Myrtle Beach Hotels in downtown Myrtle Beach run North to South from Lake Arrowhead road to the Myrtle Beach State Park.
Within these different areas are neighborhoods that have varying degree of subtleties your family may want to consider when taking Myrtle Beach vacations. Our aim here is not to get into details about Myrtle Beach resorts, but rather the various different neighborhoods where these Myrtle Beach resorts are found and what your family can expect overall in these neighborhoods.
We start with the Northern most Myrtle Beach Hotels neighborhood and run South:
Shore Drive: Shore Drive is an area that runs North of the Dunes Golf course up to the off ramp at Highway 22 into Kings Road. Shore Drive is demonstrated by exciting Myrtle Beach resorts including Kingston Plantation and Seawatch Resort on its North borders down to a more dated area South that includes properties like Ocean Sands Club, Sands Beach Club, and wooden structure condos including A Place at the Beach I through IV. Your family will also find a Super Walmart, Tanger Outlets, Arcadian Shores Golf Course, Restaurant Row, Nakatos, 2001 Night Club, Steak N Shake, Thoroughbreds, Rossis, Cagneys, Benjamins Calabash, as well as quiet and well maintained beaches. Beach traffic on the Oceanfront is mild here as compared to other downtown locations.
Dunes Section / Grand Dunes Section: This section runs from 82nd Avenue North in Myrtle Beach, S.C. South to Hampton Circle. In this area your family will find The Dunes Golf Course, The Grand Dunes Golf Course, Dixie Stampede, Carolina Opry, Liberty Steak House, Friday's Restaurant, Bonefish Grille, Outback Steak House, Carrabas, Flamingo Grille, several grocery stores, Jimmy Buffet's Cheeseburger in Paradise, Collectors Cafe, Grand Strand Hospital, as well as two of the three four diamond hotels in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Many locals and tourists consider this the most upscale address in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Beaches here, can be crowded from 78th Avenue to 67th Avenue North where the Caravelle Hotel and resorts properties stands.
The Golden Mile: By far, the Golden Mile is the least trafficked and most desired location in Myrtle Beach. This area is largely filled with Oceanfront rental homes. The Golden Mile runs from Hampton Circle South to 29th Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard. These Myrtle Beach rental houses are large and exclusive. Many were built over 50 years ago, but this only adds to their charm and customer desire. In the Golden Mile area your family can find Pine Lakes Golf Course, the Dunes Village Hotel, Southwind Hotel, as well as private neighborhoods. This is the absolute least congested Oceanfront areas in Myrtle Beach. While Banner planes do fly over this area, the beaches themselves are yours.
Downtown North: Downtown North runs from 29th Avenue North on Ocean Boulevard to 1st Avenue North on Ocean Boulevard. This area is highly compacted with high rise Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotels and Condos. Traffic on the street and on the beach will be more congested in this area. The Myrtle Beach Pavilion once stood in this area, but has now moved west to Broadway at the beach, which is now on the Western most portion of this stretch of beach. You will find in this area, many Oceanfront hotels, Broadway at the Beach, The Myrtle Beach convention center, Nascar Speed Park, Myrtle Waves, The Cal Ripken Experience, Myrtle Beach Pelicans Baseball team, Hard Rock Theme Park, The Palace Theatre, Myrtlewood Golf Course, and many Myrtle Beach restaurants, both upscale and budget.
Family Kingdom district: The Family Kingdom District runs from 1st Avenue North to 13th Avenue South. This area is filled with many high rise Myrtle Beach Hotels, both discount Myrtle Beach Hotels and some newer Myrtle Beach Condo Hotels. Beach traffic and area traffic will be higher in this region. You will find in this neighborhood: The Myrtle Beach Family Kingdom, Coastal Grand Mall, Ocean Watersports, Hard Rock Theme Park, The Myrtle Beach International Airport, Logans Restaurant, Smokey Bones Ribs, Stickey Fingers Ribs, A Super Walmart, Home Depot, Myrtle Beach Cinemas at Coastal Grand, Arrowhead Golf Course, and many restaurants in Myrtle Beach surrounding Coastal Grand Mall.
Myrtle Beach Southbeach: Southbeach runs from 14th Avenue South to the Myrtle Beach State Park. This area is slightly less congested than Downtown North or the Family Kingdom District. Oceanfront Beaches are not quite as heavily trafficked. You will find Damons Ribs on the Oceanfront in this area as well as Downwind Sails. The Myrtle Beach State Park, all new Market Commons, Hard Rock Theme Park, and Coastal Grand Mall are also in this section of Myrtle Beach.
When we rate our downtown Myrtle Beach Hotels in the future, we will tell you the neighborhood. This will help you get a feel for which Myrtle Beach Hotels and Condos you may want to choose among.
