Myrtle Beach Hotels and Condos announced today that the
Marina Inn has won the coveted four diamond award. The award is presented by ratings from AAA of the Carolinas. Ratings were released on Friday, November 30, 2007.
Other Myrtle Beach Hotels to be awarded four diamond ratings included the Myrtle Beach Marriott at Grand Dunes and the
Cypress Inn of Conway,SC. The Cypress Inn is a featured Myrtle Beach Hotels and Condos property. The hotel is located just 30 minutes west of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The
Myrtle Beach Marriott at Grand Dunes is already a featured Myrtle Beach Hotels and Condos hotel.
These AAA rankings set these two Myrtle Beach Hotels apart from all other Myrtle Beach Hotels in the area. The four diamond award helps meeting planners and AAA members choose these Myrtle Beach Hotels when services such as valet service, a knowledgeable front desk staff, and a bellman on staff is desired. Most Myrtle Beach Hotels do not have a bellman on staff and guests must carry their own luggage up to their own room at check in.
Myrtle Beach Hotels and Condos recommends these properties highly and feels that such fundamental services should be a natural part of more area Myrtle Beach Hotels. We hope that the Myrtle Beach Hotels and Condos rating system will encourage such results and provide better Myrtle Beach vacations for more and more families visiting South Carolina.
The first winner of the coveted four diamond AAA award was the Sheraton Convention center hotels located at Broadway at the Beach. This Myrtle Beach hotel won the award in 2003, when it was then a part of the Radisson hotel chain. Unfortunately the Sheration Convention Center Hotel dropped to a three diamond property this year. While this was a disappointment to the chain of Sheraton Hotels, the three diamond award still rates the Sheraton as among the best of Myrtle Beach Hotels in the area. The Sheraton learned of its losing its rating earlier in the year and fell short of the four diamond in 22 ways by inspection a few months ago. "The money that Sheraton Hotels would need to spend to regain this award amounts to around one million dollars," said Mark Kruea, a spokesman for the Sheraton Convention Center Hotel.
"AAA's requirements for a four diamond award are rigorous," said David E. Parsons, president and CEO of AAA Carolinas. "And those that win it are among the best hotels in the world as only 3 percent of our over 45,000 annual inspections conducted annually result in a four diamond rating."
