In May, most Oceanfront Myrtle Beach hotels change gears and welcome a new season and a new audience of visitors.
May is a month that continues to welcome Myrtle Beach golf vacationers, but as they begin to wain at months end, the downtown roar of Harley engines and the ying ying of import motorcycles take full stage.
May weekends are welcome retreats for families that arrive from drive traffic areas including Spartanburg, Greenville, Raleigh, Winston Salem, Carey, Fairfax, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Columbia. These in and out guests, who freguently visit more than 4 times each year, fondly call Myrtle Beach home.
Myrtle Beach Hotels typically start seeing rates rise on the Oceanfront in May. Myrtle Beach restaurants can have waits that run as long as one hour on Saturday evenings in May and the oceanfront beaches start to find blankets and towels sprawling across the shore every weekend.
Baby boomers, who take to their bikes, love to load up and eat up in places like Damons Grill. Times are still slow and easy in May and people just seem more connected.
This is one of our best months on the beach. It’s a fun month to visit and a fun month to be on God’s earth. It’s May and every year, it’s special.
